Dear Blog reader friends:
Followng are a set of emails recieved and sent regarding events at the border areas, and how it is being solved!
I am asking all of you to help in getting TV, radio, press interviews. We can arrange for the mayor, developers, Americans living in Baja, etc, to get the REAL word out.... please let me know.
Sincerely,
Gustavo Torres
Dear Gustavo:
As they say "bad news travels fast". The State Attorney General's Office in Baja is well aware of the problem in Playas de Rosarito and he will be appointing me this coming week to represent his office in US Affairs and to head a new team of bilingual DA's that will respond directly to American's needs in the Tijuana to Ensenada corridor. Furthermore, We are designing a strategic plan to have two 800 phone lines with English speaking operator's so American's in need of assistance may contact our offices 24/7. Also, we will be conducting an agressive campain (TV radio and flyers all over Baja and California and Arizona) to inform Americans who reside in Baja or who are planning to invest in Baja of our efforts to keep them safe and sound and to protect their integrity and assets. This is only the beginning of a non stop effort to redirect Rosarito's and the Baja's image (and reality) in the US.
Very best regards,
Luis Humberto Lopez.

Dear Suzanne,
Thank you all for your email and your concern!
Perfect, we are working hard on remedying this, as well as working on statistics, etc. We should have them soon, in coordination with the State Secretary of Tourism.
The City of Rosarito has retained Ron Raposa, the Rosarito Hotel's PR person, who has done an excellent job with the information, plenty of press releases, contacting the US media, and in helping the state and others understand that we are in a "state of emergency" for our industry, and the urgent need to solve this.
As soon as we have the statistics, measured improvements, etc. we will share with you, and many of the Baja and US media and interested persons.
Mr. Hugo Torres, Rosarito's brand new mayor, has been working very very hard to solve it asap, and is meeting and pressuring the other mayors, the governor, and the federal government to put all their efforts in this.
All have responded excellent, specially President F. Calderon, who has pledged -and delivered help... its ongoing. In addition, Mr. Torres is doing TV and radio interviews in southern California. For example, there was one was last Friday on NBC, following are this and next Sunday on talk show radio, 760 am at 8am, also, on KUSI TV this Wednesday at around 8 to 9am. We are programing more, in San Diego, and the LA areas, as well as in print media. We'll let you know.
If you all can help us get more, for example, and INTERVIEW for the LV Review JOURNAL, we'd REALLY appreciate it. Also, if they would like to do and interview to the Mayor, to Ron raposa, to the Baja Secretary of Tourism, etc, please let me know asap so that we may arrange it... we definitely need to let all know about the situation being handled.
Muchas muchas gracias Suzanne,
Gustavo Torres
